Colonel Mark Adger
Colonel Mark C. Adger, a native of Chicago, Illinois relocated to Georgia in 1979. He is an alumnus of Georgia State University and a former member of the Marine Corps Reserves. Colonel Adger graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology.
He began his career with the Fulton County Sheriff’s Office in 1986 as a Sheriff’s Deputy. He served as S.W.A.T. team (Special Weapons And Tactics) Commander from 1996 to 2009. In addition, he was assigned as the FCSO Training Unit Commander from 2005 to 2009. Currently, he is the Chief Jailer at the Fulton County Jail where he has more than 665 employees under his command. He also oversees the South Fulton Regional Annex, Marietta Annex as well as the Alpharetta Annex. Along with maintaining the security and safety of the various facilities, Colonel Adger is tasked with ensuring that more than 2500 inmates are provided medical, dental, and mental health services.
