Tyler Yaryan
Rookie COTyler was born and raised in California, where he experienced mostly hardship for much of his young life. After sustaining a neck injury that derailed his plans for college and the Marines, Tyler is finding purpose and happiness as a Corrections Officer.
He originally joined the academy because he thought it could be a stepping-stone to a career in law enforcement. He wanted to be a state trooper, but has learned to love corrections and plans to stick with it. His superior officers describe him as an exemplary rookie who still has a lot to learn, but also has the potential to climb the ranks. Tyler’s story is one of hope and inspiration, something not often found within the world of corrections.
Although just 19, Tyler is focused on his future, working full time for the NMCD while also putting in time working on a ranch.
